View Issue #6696 / Additional store view switching back to default st

=================== Problem discription ==============================

Have a webshop installed to test Magento with multiple store views, purpose is to have it support more than one language. However I've now discovered that my store front behaves strange and I can't nail it down where it has gone wrong.

This is what I do. If I select the secondary store view, the store front updates correctly. But as soon as I click on a link, (account, product, chart, category) the store front changes to the default store view. I've seen demo shops where it works. But I seem to have messed something up that shouldn't be possible. I've included a dump of my database for you to have a look at and see what needs to be updated in the code to aviod this to happen in the future.

Installed on a XAMPP (1.6.0a) for windows system.
Attach phpinfo and .htaccess as well.
OS WinXP

======================= Recovery & Workaround ================================================
Tried to recover an old backup but the same behaviour still exists. An earlier system backup than that is not available.
